As Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineer by training, I am exploring nanotechnology, material science, thin films, miniaturized sensors, electrochemistry, electrochemical biosensors, nanomedicine, drug delivery to CNS, and biomedical engineering for health wellness at Department of Environmental Engineering of Florida Polytechnic University, Lakeland, USA

 

During my research, I have been engaged in design and development of various electro-active nanostructures for electrochemical biosensor and nanomedicine for health care. My research interests include nano-biotechnology, analytical systems, design & develop nanostructures, nano-carries for drug delivery, nano-therapeutics for CNS diseases, on-demand site-specific release of therapeutic agents, exploring personalized nanomedicines, biosensors, point-of-care sensing devices, and related areas of health care monitoring.

Objective: The proposed research will elucidate the role of nanotechnology (MENPs) to deliver Cas9/gRNA across the BBB for the recognition and eradication of the HIV reservoir in the brain and to treat/prevent neurological deficits observed in morphine using HIV infected subjects

Objective: The proposed research will evaluate the effect of nanodelivery of HIV drug and Methanadamide, a stable analog of Anandamide across BBB to alleviate cannabinoid induced adverse effects in BBB and mouse models of HIV and Cannabinoid.

Teaching Experience

Teaching and research at the interface of science, technology, and engineering in a highly collaborative environment. Development of cost-effective nano-biotechnologies, smart nanomaterials/structures, biosensors, advanced instrumentation, system development (primary), and nanomedicine for CNS diseases along with drug delivery systems to get into the brain (secondary) is always my focus during teaching.
